Over the past year working in Emergency Medical Services, I’ve had a front-row seat to the realities many seniors in the Grand Forks community face every day. Beyond medical needs, I repeatedly saw something just as urgent: loneliness, lack of support, and the simple need for someone to be there. Many calls weren’t just about emergencies — they were about aging individuals who needed a helping hand, a listening ear, or companionship they could rely on.
As our community continues to grow older, the need for compassionate, non-medical support has become impossible to ignore.
